Analysis Tools
Log files are generated for Real-Time Client and Real-Time Designer. Logs are especially useful when analyzing and debugging complex issues that may be encountered only on the agent's desktop and not in the development environment.
The logs complement the Monitor Tool for troubleshooting. The following are the key differences:
The logs record the entire history of events, whereas in Monitor you only see the current status/value, for example:
In Monitor, you see only the current value of a Business Entity but not its previous value, whereas in the logs both values are recorded.
In Monitor, you see only the last time the Event Handler was executed, whereas in the logs you see all instances of the Event Handler been executed.
For issues that occur on the agent machine, you can analyze the logs offline, whereas with Monitor you have to view it live which is not always feasible.
This section describes how to use the Code tab and various analysis tools, such as WinAnalyzer, WebAnalyzer, and OSAnalyer, to analyze screen elements. It also describes how to use the ActiveX Spy tool to intercept and analyze ActiveX objects.
